I am a Humanities student who joined Sahyadri School in Grade 11.

I joined Sahyadri School seeking a change of pace and a different way of learning and living. My time here has given me opportunities that I would not have had otherwise – from meeting inspiring people and interviewing visiting artists and speakers to performing on different platforms, participating in sports, and helping to organize school events. These experiences have helped me become more confident, open-minded, and willing to take on new responsibilities.

My experiences at Sahyadri School have been incredibly enriching, and I have been deeply involved in the school’s extracurricular life throughout my time here. I have served as both a member and Head of the Cultural Committee, contributing to the planning and organization of events such as Fresher’s Eve (2025 and 2026), Musical Eve (September 2025 and February 2026), Christmas Carols (December 2025), and several other school gatherings. I have also been a core member, writer, and editor of the Newsletter Committee, where I have written articles, conducted interviews with visiting artists and speakers, and worked on editing and compiling the school newsletter. In addition, I helped organize the Art and Literature Festival (2025) and served on the Farewell Gifts Committee for the outgoing Grade 10 and Grade 12 batches of the academic year 2025–26. I have also been involved in Student Council initiatives, dormitory visits (peer counselling), and contributed to the planning and execution of Sahyadri School KFI’s first Alumni Meet in December 2025. I have also been an editor of the annual school magazine, Ninad. Through this platform, I have contributed by curating, editing, and compiling literary and artistic submissions from students and educators, helping to showcase the creative work of the school community.

Beyond organizing events, I have been an active member of the school’s Film Club and Phoenix Club (a book-tasting club), and am a founding member of the Peanut Butter and “Jam” Club, the school’s music club. Music and the performing arts have remained central to my interests. I play the guitar, piano, and sitar, and have participated in numerous on-stage performances during my two years at Sahyadri, building upon over seven years of prior performance experience before joining the KFI community. I also play badminton and have participated in multiple district-level table tennis competitions. Prior to joining Sahyadri, I was a student at Hiranandani Foundation School, Thane (West), where I was a member of two school bands as a lead vocalist and guitarist. Together, we performed on more than fifty stages, including inter-school competitions, intra-school performances, farewell events, and other public programmes. Alongside music, I actively participated in community service initiatives. I was involved in organizing and participating in clean-up drives across Hiranandani Estate (Thane West) and volunteered with organizations including Paramshanti Dham Vriddhashram, Smita Old Age Home, Maa Niketan Orphanage, Jeevan Samvardhan Foundation Gurukul, and Janani Ashish Charitable Trust. At Hiranandani Foundation School, I was also a member of the Interact Club, contributing to the organization of inter-house events, the annual Sports Fest, and several inter-school festivals and competitions, including JNAA Cascade, Rochak (Christ Church School), Allure (Greenlawns High School), Aura (Lodha World School, Palava), Astitva (St. John’s Universal School), Cynosure (St. Gregorios High School), Zenith (Lilavatibai Podar High School), and Perseverentia (Bombay Scottish School, Mahim). I have trained in Kathak (Lucknow Gharana) for nine years and have successfully completed the Grade 5 (Madhyama Poorna) examination. I have also completed the Trinity College London Grade 1 examination in Guitar and Music Theory (Sheet Music). Throughout these experiences, I have sought to contribute meaningfully to the communities I have been a part of – whether through organizing events, creative collaboration, service initiatives, or the performing arts. I value opportunities that encourage initiative, teamwork, and thoughtful engagement, and I look forward to continuing to learn, contribute, and grow through the Sahyadri community.
