I joined Sahyadri School in Grade 4 and have been deeply involved in the community ever since. I actively participate in volleyball and badminton and have consistently taken part in a range of school activities across all grade levels.

Throughout my time here, I have been part of several enriching clubs: the Astro Club in Grade 4, where I explored astronomy and space science, and the Phoenix Club in Grade 5, a wonderful platform for sharing and discovering books. In Grade 10, I completed an IIT Madras School Connect course on Economics, Finance, and Money Matters, which deepened my understanding of financial literacy.

I have actively participated in major school festivals and projects. For the Grade 7 State Fest, I researched and displayed exhibits on Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and performed Bhangra as part of the celebration. The Mughal Fest allowed me to research and present on Mughal weapons and armour, and I modelled traditional clothing in a school assembly. I also helped organise a Mughal-themed dinner that integrated our history curriculum with experiential learning.

In Grade 8, my group designed a hydraulic crane model for the Science Fest. I participated in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 8) and contributed to English productions, including a human-rights play and a Grade 10 performance of O Captain, My Captain, a remake of Dead Poets Society. In Grade 10, I performed a monologue in Hindi as Duryodhan from the Mahabharata.

As a Grade 9 Physical Education student, I helped organise the Sports Fest and hosted the Grade 10 and Grade 12 farewell events alongside my peers. I also gave assemblies about Cross Country and various sports events. Now in Grade 11, I serve on the Student Council’s Sports Committee and am involved in a General Studies project exploring the connections between law, criminality, and politics.

Beyond academics, I have participated in the Activity Block, including cooking and campus beautification; visited nearby village schools for Education for Sustainable Development initiatives; and learned about sustainable farming practices on our school farm. I am also learning tabla as part of my performing arts education.

I am grateful for Sahyadri’s holistic approach to education and the many opportunities to grow inside and outside the classroom. The Geet Gunjan morning assemblies, folk dance, and wide range of extracurricular activities have shaped my experience in ways that extend far beyond the traditional curriculum.
