I joined Sahyadri School in 11th.

Since joining the school in Grade 11, I have tried to be an active and dependable member of the community, taking every opportunity to contribute beyond the classroom. Each experience has challenged me in different ways and has helped me develop confidence, creativity, leadership, and a stronger sense of responsibility.

As a member of the DH Committee, I learned that successful events are built on collaboration and attention to detail. I had the opportunity to anchor the Alumni Meet, an experience that strengthened my public speaking skills and taught me how to stay composed while engaging with a large audience. I also worked on the decorations team for the Farewell ceremony for the Batch of 2026, contributed to the creation of the yearbook, and helped make farewell gifts. These experiences showed me the importance of working behind the scenes and finding joy in creating meaningful experiences for others.

Being a regular member of the Phoenix Club and the Film Club has encouraged me to think more critically and creatively. Through discussions, films, and shared perspectives, I have learned to appreciate different viewpoints and have become more thoughtful in the way I observe and interpret the world around me.

As a Literature student, participating in the Independence Day assembly gave me the opportunity to express ideas through performance while working closely with my peers. It reminded me that storytelling and collaboration can be powerful ways of bringing people together. One of my most memorable experiences was our Grade 11 play. I wrote and co-composed the songs with my classmates, allowing me to combine my love for music with storytelling. At the same time, I took responsibility for coordinating the costumes, which required organization, problem-solving, and balancing creativity with practical constraints. Working on both the artistic and logistical aspects of the production taught me to adapt, communicate effectively, and support my team wherever I was needed.

Music has always been an important part of my life, which is why becoming one of the anchors of the Peanut Butter & Jam Club has been especially meaningful. The club, created by the Grade 12 students, has given me the opportunity to help foster a welcoming space where students can share their love for music, perform, and build confidence in one another. It has reinforced my belief that creative spaces can strengthen a sense of community.

I also contributed to improving the tuck shop during Grade 11 and helped organize cookouts. Although these may seem like smaller responsibilities, they taught me that every contribution, no matter its scale, plays a role in shaping the daily life of a school. Whether helping with planning, setting up, or simply volunteering when extra hands were needed, I learned the value of initiative, reliability, and service.

Looking back, I realize that the experiences that have shaped me the most are not only the visible leadership roles but also the quieter moments of working alongside others to create something meaningful. They have taught me to be adaptable, empathetic, and collaborative, and have shown me that leadership is not only about taking charge – it is about listening, supporting others, and contributing consistently. These experiences have helped me grow into someone who values creativity, community, and the opportunity to make a positive impact wherever I am.

I joined this institution because it provides an excellent environment for learning and personal growth. It offers countless opportunities to develop independence, build confidence, and improve oneself. The teaching faculty is exceptional – they are supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely encourage students to reach their full potential. There are also many opportunities to pursue higher education and explore new paths after graduating from here. Since joining, I have genuinely enjoyed being a part of this community. It has taught me valuable lessons, not only academically but also personally. I have become more independent, confident, and mature, and I can clearly see how much I have grown as a person. Looking back, choosing to study here was one of the best decisions I have made, and I am grateful for everything this experience has given me.
