I joined Sahyadri School in Grade 7.

Since Grade 9, I have actively contributed to school life by taking on leadership roles across publications, student governance, and events. I served as a two-time Editor of Ninad, our biennial school magazine, anchored the Newsletter Committee in Grade 11, and was a member of both the Dorm Affairs Committee and the Student Council, where I helped organize community events and contribute to school policymaking.

I also co-founded the school’s Culinary Club. As part of the Events Committee, I planned two farewell ceremonies and was on the core team for the Alumni Meet. Beyond leadership, I have completed the Himalayan treks to Pandav Pathar and Bali Pass, and for the past six years, I have been learning the sitar under the guidance of Girish Sir.

These experiences have strengthened my leadership, teamwork, creativity, resilience, and sense of responsibility while allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the Sahyadri community.

I joined Sahyadri School in Class 7 because I wanted a place where I could grow not just in academics, but as a person. Looking back, I can confidently say it was one of the most defining parts of my school life.

Every year at Sahyadri has been different than the others. In Classes 7 and 8, I had the freedom to explore new interests, spend time in nature, and simply enjoy being part of a close-knit community. As I grew older, Classes 9 to 12 brought new responsibilities and opportunities to take on leadership roles, lead initiatives, anchor events, and contribute more actively to school life.

Being in a residential school has taught me so much; it has taught me independence, responsibility, and how to live and work with people. More than anything, Sahyadri taught me the value of real human relationships. We live in a digital age, yet Sahyadri showed a different side of the world; living here meant having meaningful conversations, learning from the people around me, and building lifelong friendships that have genuinely shaped me.

Along the way, I also discovered my interest in multiple things, including economics and leadership. Sahyadri has helped me become more confident, curious, and open-minded, and it has been a place that has shaped who I am today. Beyond everything, Sahyadri is home.
