I joined Sahyadri School in Grade 7 and have been there ever since. I am a dedicated and multifaceted student with a deep passion for the sciences, leadership, and community engagement. Over the course of my school journey from Grade 7 to Grade 12, I have actively sought out opportunities to lead initiatives, anchor events, and contribute to both the academic and non-academic spheres of my school community. To improve student life, mentor my peers, and foster academic curiosity, I have consistently taken on high-responsibility leadership positions. I stepped up as the Club President for the Research Club after four years of proactive membership, where I now facilitate research projects for members, conduct street experiments for the school, and present findings in assemblies. Additionally, as a member of the Student Council, I contributed directly to school policymaking. In my role as the Anchor of the Dining Hall (DH) committee, I successfully overhauled the school food system, organized quarterly dorm cookouts, and streamlined the tuck shop procurement process.

My commitment to campus life also extended deeply into media, design, and student mentorship. I served as the Editor for the yearly school magazine, Ninad, providing a vital creative outlet for the student body. I was also heavily involved in the technical and documentation side of school life, devoting over 600 hours across five years to the Audio-Video Support Team, assisting with projector setups, movie screenings, and minor computer repairs, while also holding responsibility as the Photographer and Videographer-in-Charge for major school events. Beyond these technical roles, I worked closely with younger students as a Dorm Counselor for the Vishkha and Indrayni dorms, mentoring 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade boys and helping them navigate personal and school challenges.

Public speaking and organizing events that engage the wider school community are activities I truly enjoy. As the Lead Organizer for the Science Fest in Grade 12, I planned and coordinated the day’s events, which included hosting and conducting a science quiz for the entire school during the morning assembly. In Grade 11, I anchored the Farewell Gifts Committee, managing the design, organization, and timely completion of gifts for the outgoing batch. I also designed and delivered a comprehensive News Assembly presentation on local and global current affairs to the school. This built upon my previous presentation experience, which included researching and presenting an assembly on the Higgs Boson particle, its field, and CERN in Grade 10, as well as an assembly researching customs duties and their economic significance for the senior school in Grade 9.

Beyond clubs and hosting events, my background spans martial arts, theater, outdoor survival, and athletics. On the sports front, I shared my passion for athletics by serving as a Basketball Boot Camp Instructor, running a 30-day intensive camp for 7th and 8th graders during Grade 11. Years prior, in Grade 8, I undertook rigorous physical preparation by running and walking to successfully complete a demanding 5-day high-altitude trek to Pandav Pathar, reaching 12,500 feet. My creative side flourished in theater, where I edited the script and acted in 12 Angry Jurors, an adaptation of 12 Angry Men. I also acted in the Annual Hindi Plays during Grades 9 and 10, devoting substantial time to preparing for my roles and using woodwork skills to design and construct stage props under tight deadlines.

In academic competitions and STEM projects, I have consistently pushed my boundaries to explore higher-level concepts. I scored 28 points in the 2025 IOQM Math Olympiad, placing in the top 10% both nationwide and statewide. To further my scientific knowledge, I prepared for and competed in several prestigious examinations during my vacations, including the National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP), Chemistry (NSEC), and Junior Science (NSEJS). My academic journey has been further enriched by a recent visit to the India Science Fest 2026 at IISER Pune.

I joined Sahyadri in Grade 7, seeking a school with fewer rules and more freedom. Over time, Sahyadri grew on me, and it gradually transformed from just a boarding school into a true home away from home. Different aspects of the daily schedule, such as astachal and the music assembly, shifted from being mere routines into deeply meaningful experiences that defined my time here. At first, sitting quietly during astachal felt like a forced pause in my day. However, watching the sun dip behind the hills eventually became something I genuinely looked forward to—a quiet moment to untangle my thoughts and just be. Similarly, the music assemblies stopped being just scheduled events and grew into the emotional heartbeat of my week, filling the campus with a powerful sense of shared community.

Living here taught me that the freedom I was looking for wasn’t just about a lack of restrictions, but about learning who I am when given the space to breathe. The unique environment of Sahyadri also shifted my perspective on education and relationships. Being at the school forces you to slow down and adopt a more mindful way of living, while learning becomes less about a frantic race for marks and more about genuine curiosity. Even the bond with teachers is different here; the boundaries soften over shared meals and casual conversations, making the whole campus feel like an extended family. Looking back, I came to Sahyadri looking for an escape, but I ended up finding a place that completely shaped how I see the world.
