Today was the first day of school and the air itself felt full of new beginnings.
Rose akka did the Aarti to welcome our four angels - Ritanya, Nisarg, Eyalini and Tenzin to Pre-Primary school. Their little feet stepped in with such trust, and we welcomed them with light and blessings for the year ahead.
Morning Welcome
Mital and Sunanda akka stood at the entrance to welcome each child with smiles and warmth. You could see the little faces light up, some shy, some excited, all held in that feeling of belonging.
Circle & Rhythm
We gathered for Circle Time with a Monsoon Rhythm. The songs and movements matched the season - swaying like trees, welcoming the clouds and rains ..The children joined in quickly, their bodies remembering the rhythm.
After the circle, I gave a short Welcome Speech to the children. Then we moved into our regular timetable:
- Guided Drawing - quiet focus, crayons moving, settling into the day
- English Lesson : story - Snow white and Rose red:first sounds with drawings and verses for the new year
Gifts and Handwork
A special moment: we gifted each child their stationery and books. A set of oil pastels,new English main lesson book,form drawing and guided drawing book,one set of chalk.
Then came the Immersion Session. Today we began our first handwork project - running stitch for a bag. Each student sat with needle and thread, concentrating, making their very own school bag stitch by stitch. So much patience and pride.
Play, Story & Rest
Free Play with Dupattas - the room became a sea of color. Caves, rivers, capes, and wings appeared.
Story Time - The mushroom:we listened, imagined, and traveled together.
Nap Time - quiet bodies, quiet room.
Lunch Break - @12.30 sharing food and laughter.
Afternoon Lessons
After lunch, energy came back gently.
We practiced the new English lesson again.
Then we flowed into Hindi / Marathi class to close the day with language and song.
