Card Club

by Chandreshwar Singh (Class 11) and Shail Kshirsagar (Class 11)

The concept of card games is always perceived with negative connotations due to its association with gambling, as well as its addictive nature. However, Siddham, Shail, Yash and I thought that playing cards can also be a productive activity. It can help develop critical thinking, analytical and observational skills. We spoke to Arjuna Sir and he decided to become our mentor. We are thinking of holding a Cards Tournament at the end of August.

In the club slot, we played games such as Cobra, Judgement, Court Piece and Kent. The game of Judgement requires you to be analytical while Kent requires you to be a good observer. People think that Court Piece is all about luck but it is more of co-ordinating with your partner.

Playing card games fosters friendships as well. Our objective is not just to have fun but to learn quick-thinking skills through card games too.
